What is so bad about the
Harry Potter books? Aren’t they just fantasy stories?
Our concern stems from the fact that the Harry
Potter books glorify the world of the occult—something that God
strictly forbids His people from becoming involved in (cf. Deut. 18).
Furthermore, the main characters, Harry, Ron and Hermione, flagrantly
disobey rules, and are seldom punished for it. In fact, in some
instances they are commended for doing so. In book 4 Harry is actually
encouraged to cheat by one of his teachers. It’s a terrible example to
teach our children.
